Kinship System of Kluet Family in South Aceh, Indonesia(An Etnographic Study at Gampong Pulo Kambing)

The kinship system is a social unit consisting of several families who are related by blood or marriage. This study aims to answer three main problem formulations, namely: What is the structure of the kinship system of the Kluet Tribe family in South Aceh?, What are the roles of the nuclear family in the kinship system of the Kluet Tribe family in South Aceh,? and What are the roles of Pemamoan and Pewalian in the kinship system?. This study uses a qualitative approach. The intruments used are observation, interview, and documentation. The obtained data were through data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. The results of the study indicate that the Kluet Tribe's kinship system is patrilineal, where lineage is recognized from the father's side. The Kluet Tribe's kinship system has terms of address structure in the Kluet Tribe, how the role of the nuclear family in a kinship starts from the relationship between parents and their children and also the relationship between the family and the surrounding neighbors, and also how the role of guardians and guardians in a traditional tradition in the tribe which is also included in the nuclear family. This finding is in accordance with the theory according to William A. Haviland in 1974, that the family is a group consisting of a mother, children who are still dependent on her, and a father who is bound by marriage or blood relations. In addition to relationships within a family, there are also relationships with other families outside of their own family. These relationships can also take the form of relationships with neighbors.
